Privacy Policy

AI Girlfriend List is an editorial directory. We try to collect as little data as possible. This page explains exactly what is collected, why, and how to exercise your rights.

1. Who we are

AI Girlfriend List (the "Site") is an independent editorial publication. The Site reviews and ranks AI companion applications. The Site does not host, sell or operate any of the third-party apps it reviews.

2. What we collect

The Site is mostly static content. We collect the minimum necessary to operate, secure, and improve the publication.

2.1 Server logs (legitimate interest)

Standard web server logs are kept for security and abuse prevention. These include your IP address, user-agent string, the URL you requested, the referring page and a timestamp. Logs are rotated and deleted after 30 days.

2.2 Aggregated analytics (legitimate interest)

We use privacy-respecting analytics that count page views and traffic sources. No persistent identifier is set. No cross-site profile is built. No data is sold or shared with advertisers.

2.3 Local browser preferences (your device only)

Your dark mode and language preferences are stored in your browser via localStorage. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

2.4 Email correspondence (consent)

If you write to us, we keep your email and message for as long as needed to handle the request, then archive it for up to 24 months for audit purposes.

3. What we do not collect

We do not require an account to use the Site.
We do not set advertising cookies.
We do not run cross-site tracking pixels.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
We do not build behavioural profiles.

4. Affiliate links and third-party redirects

The Site contains affiliate links to AI companion apps. When you click a "Visit" button, you are redirected to a third party. That third party may set its own cookies, log your IP, and assign a referral ID. We have no control over their data practices.

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area, we rely on the following legal bases under article 6 of the GDPR:

Legitimate interest for server logs and aggregated analytics.
Consent for any non-essential cookie that may be added in the future.
Performance of a request when you email us.

6. Subprocessors and infrastructure

We rely on the following categories of providers to operate the Site:

Hosting for serving the Site over HTTPS.
Content delivery network for static asset caching.
Email transit for handling messages sent to contact@aigirlfriendlist.com.
Privacy-respecting analytics for page-view counts.

If you want the current list of named providers, write to us with subject line [Privacy] and we will share it.

7. International transfers

Some providers operate servers outside the EEA, including in the United States. When that happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards, as required by the GDPR.

8. Retention

Server logs: 30 days.
Aggregated analytics: 24 months in anonymised form.
Email correspondence: up to 24 months after the last reply.
Browser preferences: until you clear your browser.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the following rights:

9.1 GDPR rights (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Right to access the data we hold about you.
Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
Right to restrict or object to processing.
Right to data portability.
Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

French residents may file a complaint with the CNIL. UK residents may contact the ICO.

9.2 CCPA / CPRA rights (California)

Right to know what personal information is collected.
Right to delete personal information.
Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

9.3 How to exercise your rights

Email contact@aigirlfriendlist.com with subject line [Privacy]. We respond within 30 days.

10. Children

The Site reviews adult applications. The Site is intended for visitors who are 18 or older, or 21 or older where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the Site, contact us and we will erase any related data.

11. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. We apply standard hardening on our hosting and limit access to logs. No system is perfectly secure. Use strong passwords on the third-party apps you sign up to.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes are flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
